Where does my commute go when I add myself?

It's saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only. If you tick "Add me to the city-wide stats", a rounded, nameless copy is also sent to the shared stats. The privacy page has the details.

How do I remove someone from the list?

Press the × next to their name in the "In the city" card. "Reset to sample commuters" brings back the six sample people.

Can I get rid of everything I've added?

Yes. Use the "Clear my data" button on the privacy page. It wipes this site's storage in your browser and removes anything you shared to the city-wide stats.

Why doesn't my area appear in the list?

The map only has ten places for now, chosen to keep the drawing readable. I'd like to add more. If yours is missing, request it on GitHub or email me. The most-asked-for areas go in first.

Is this real traffic data?

No. The times are what people type in, and the map is a stylized drawing. Please don't use it to plan a journey.

The animation is distracting. Can I stop it?

Press the pause button in the time bar. If your device is set to reduce motion, the city starts paused and moves in simple steps.

04Report a bug

Bugs are tracked in public on GitHub, so you can see what's known and what's fixed. Issues are public, so please leave out personal details. The most useful reports say:

  • what you did, and what happened
  • what you expected to happen
  • your device and browser (for example "iPhone 13, Safari")
  • a screenshot, if you can
